“Villanueva. La Síntesis” is a book like a notebook. Analyzing the works of Villanueva, it examines space, for being the greatest attribute of the master's architecture, and the primal matter of his work; and the synthesis, for constituting his life' s most loyal expression and his most refined project tool. Join its author, Maciá Pintó, in a conversation with some of his most attentive readers, followers of the work and life of Carlos Raúl Villanueva.
"In the book ‘Villanueva. La Síntesis’, Maciá Pintó presents a surprising ammount of materials, original sources, coming from Villanueva 's own archives as well as from those of several artists. Thus, following the conductive thread of the Síntesis de las Artes and of constructive abstraction, he cleverly reveals the architect's life, where his interests and his valuable friendships foster an unparalleled work and thought. This lead us therefore to adequately understand that Carlos Raúl Villanueva belongs with the greatest artists of the Twentieth-century”. (Louise Noelle, president of DoCoMoMo México. Prologue of the book “Villanueva. La Síntesis”, Caracas, July 2013:15).

Patrimonio en peligro / Heritage at Risk

Unidad residencial El Paraíso

Unidad residencial El Paraíso, Carlos Raúl Villanueva. Caracas, 1951 (f.

(Maolis Castro, EL NACIONAL)
